The Gallery

The Galleria Canesso Lugano, located in heart of the city's historic centre, is a new cultural space dedicated to Italian Old Master paintings. Apart from its role as a point of reference for established collectors, the Gallery aims to attract a new, younger generation to the appreciation and collecting of classical paintings. By blending culture, the art market and enthusiasm the gallery will accompany and assist clients in their collecting activities.
Maurizio Canesso, born in Lombardy, has chosen Lugano as the ideal location for the second branch of his long established, Paris-based art gallery. This is a kind of return to his roots in the city, which represents the ideal meeting point between Italy and Switzerland, where long-established historical cultural and artistic ties between Lombardy and Ticino are renewed.
The tradition of quality, exclusivity and seriousness established by Maurizio Canesso in Paris will also be the watchwords of the new Lugano gallery, to be managed on his behalf by Chiara Naldi.
