Pier Francesco Mola, Young Satyr Drinking Wine through a Reed.

Piazza Riforma 2 6900 Lugano Switzerland
“Sentire l’Arte” Art and the Senses. Concert and readings inspired by the painting and Bacchus.
In addition to the exhibition, two evenings will be dedicated to the painting and will be inspired by the theme of Bacchus-Dionysus and the Satyrs, which has been so popular in literary and visual culture throughout the centuries. A synesthetic approach to the work of art will be used, which involves all the senses – hence apart from sight, also hearing, taste and sense of smell. The enjoyment of the painting will be heightened and made even more pleasurable through listening to music played by professional musicians from the Conservatory of the Svizzera italiana, as well as themed readings chosen by Professor Luca D’Onghia, an expert on Renaissance and Baroque theatre and performed by Massimiliano Zampetti from the Teatro dell’Emergenza di Lugano. This theme of wine and grapes has also led to a delightful collaboration between the Galleria Canesso and the prestigious Lugano winery: Fattoria Moncucchetto. The support of Patrimony 1873 is also gratefully acknowledged.
