Thursday, September 22, 2016 - Saturday, November 19, 2016
Piazza Riforma 2 6900 Lugano Switzerland
The fourth event of "Sentire l'Arte", Art and the Senses, has been dedicated to Games in Old Master Paintings. The highlights of the exhibition were three paintings in which the art of playing games was the central theme and was approached from different points of view: "Morra players" by Pietro Ricchi (Lucca 1606 - Udine 1675), "Soldiers playing cards" by Giacomo Ceruti (Milan 1698-1767), and "Rome, a game of "palla a bracciale" in the gardens of Palazzo Barberini" by Antonio Joli (Modena 1700 - Neaples 1770).
Along with the paintings there were also on display some precious table games from the 18th century.
